Wine Bottle Fridges: Are They Essential?
By
There's plenty of talk about wine bottle refrigerators online nowadays and many of us are considering to purchase one.
Do you actually need a special refrigerator just for your wine? What if you only drink red wine? Isn't your usual refrigerator good enough? This article will answer some of the most common wine fridge questions.
Do you actually need a wine bottle refrigerator? The answer's no. Not if you are not concerned about your wine. You see, wine refrigerators are designed particularly for people that appreciate a good food, for example, those that can taste the difference in the sophisticated subtleties of a bottle of wine which has been treated well compared to one which has been perturbed too much and exposed to light and vibrations. Wine fridges are for people that respect wine and care about the display. For everybody else, the regular refrigerator is just fine for shoving your wine into. There isn't any reason to fret if you do not care about slight flavour changes and just wish to serve a bottle of wine. Wine bottle fridges are meticulously designed and built to avoid vibrations. The cooler has a damper on it to keep things nice and smooth running so that the wine will not be jarred or vibrated, something that may basically change the flavour of the wine and break it down on a minute level.
Light also has effects on the wine and so in a regular refrigerator, you're going to problems with this since it will be consistently opened and exposed to intense light. With a correct cooler, you will not need to fret about this. Other reasons a specially designed fridge is a great idea is that you are basically mimicking a wine basement. Since the majority do not have a genuine wine basement nowadays, it's an excellent idea to have something that has similarities in a smaller size. You may not be ready to dig out a basement in your home, but a wine refrigerator can do the job and keep your wine, red or white at the proper serving temperature and make sure that it is at its best flavour.
Your wine, if it counts to you, should be cared for in the right way. For the average person, a wine bottle refrigerator will probably not be significant and the refrigerator will do fine. If you would like to be certain that your wine is chilled to the right serving temperature ( even red wine should be a little cooled ), then a wine cooler is a smart idea.
